Recent news of wildfires blazing through Tennessee have filled the pages of my social media, and my heart breaks for them. The Great Smoky Mountains is a beautiful and special place to my family. It is a place that warms our hearts each year as we travel there to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. We can;t help but feel lost in another world as we travel on the winding roads catching glimpses of animals living in the wild. The tranquil streams flowing through the mountain take us back to a time of innocence. There is nothing quite like the Smokies!
As my heart breaks for those that have lost so much of such a beautiful place, I find comfort in listening to Amy Grant’s Christmas album. After nearly 20 years, Christmas has come early for fans of Amy’s iconic voice. Her new album features many classics in her beautiful voice. There’s a little bit of country and pop throughout this album. She even has a fun little tune that many know, “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” and her husband Vince Gill sings along with her. There is one song that is near to Amy’s heart on this album, “To Be Together.” Amy captures in this song what really matters at Christmas, being with loved ones on the holidays.
Amy wants her fans to share their Christmas videos with her. She is asking fans to upload any videos they have of them surprising their loved ones for the holidays to social media. Be sure to use the hashtag #TNChristmasSurprise. She’ll be selecting videos to create a compilation video that will be posted to her social media accounts.
As we enjoy our friends and families this holiday season, say an extra prayer for those in Tennessee that lost everything due to the recent wildfires. Our Tennessee friends and family, you will have your “Tender Tennessee Christmas” once again.
