It’s summertime, and the kids are home! The beginning of summer seems to roll on smoothly as the kids sleep in or head to the pool. As a mom, I try to give my kids a little time to just be kids and enjoy summer, but after a week or two, I find that I have to put my foot down and get my kids outdoors and off the couch and technology! I am always looking for new innovative ways to keep them engaged. Thankfully, after a little research you can come across some great ideas to keep them working those brains.
Whether you are looking for a way to get your kid off technology or the couch this summer, we have one cool idea that you need to check out! Let’s go “old school” on them, and show them how to be a Pinball Wizard with the PinBox 3000!
Cardboard Teck Instantute’s PinBox 3000 – the first tabletop pinball system made of recycled cardboard! This DIY, fun-filled game is made of die cut parts and customizable play boards. You can decorate the boards anyway that you would like, and they even have bumpers you can add to it. Everything you need is included in this kit , and it requires no tools!
The creators of The PinBox 3000, featured above, created this with the goal to encourage community play, making, and engagement through kinetic, open-minded and creative platforms made of eco-friendly materials. Powered by rubber bands, gravity and you, PinBox 3000 helps bring the “tap-swipe” generation back to the tactile maker experience.
As a teacher, I am super excited about this product. In 2017 they will be supporting STEAM initiatives. Currently teachers can access the PinBox 3000 curricula and project guides on their website. If you are a teacher of any sort, this would be an awesome learning project.
So if you are looking for something to keep them engaged this summer and off their devices, this is the perfect solution! We highly recommend the PinBox 3000.
