The Star, Preparing Hearts for the Holiday Season

The Star Movie
There is one thing that I truly treasure during the holiday season,  family movie time!  Now that may sound a little silly to you when you consider ALL that you can really treasure during this time-family, friends, gifts, etc..  Don’t get me wrong, I cherish those memories the most!  But family movie time is something that I love because it is a time when our family comes together to watch new releases and classics.
We begin with the classics-Rudolph, Frosty, A Christmas Carol, etc…  We have some traditions like wearing our PJs, drinking hot cocoa, and baking cookies just for our movie time at home.  The house is full of laughter and even tears from time to time.  One of our other traditions is something we turn in to a BIG event by going out to dinner and choosing the movie to watch.  Each year we try to select one that will help us to get into the holiday spirit.  One that stands for what we believe in.  Something that we can go and see without having to cover the little one’s eyes or ears.
This year it was an easy decision to make!   THE STAR,” set to release November 17th, is the story of ALL Christmas stories.  It is the greatest story ever told.  The story of the birth of our Savior!

The Star

In Sony Pictures Animation’s The Star, a small but brave donkey named Bo yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations.
Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas.
