Nickelodeon Slime City

Nickelodeon Slime City is here Atlanta.  Oh, what a happy day for many Nick fans, myself included!

I have fond memories of what many refer to as the Golden Age of Nickelodeon -the mid-80s all the way through the 90s.  It was nothing but crazy cartoons, slime-filled, family friendly game shows, and an array of iconic movies like Good Burger.  Plus, the best sketch comedy show for kids, All That!  With All That back on Nickelodeon, there is a lot of excitement about the early days of Nick!

That bright orange splat Nick logo is something that brings back some of the best times of my life!  But what did I love the most – watching others get SLIMED!  I secretly wished that I could have been on their shows and had the chance to be slimed!  It just looked like a messy blast of fun I wanted in on, and now that moment has arrived!

Nickelodeon Slime City

Nickelodeon is giving kids and families the chance to see, feel and get doused in its iconic green goo at Slime City, the brand’s first-ever pop-up experience dedicated to all things slime. Open in the Buckhead district of Atlanta, GA, through Labor Day, fans will have the opportunity to create their own gooey slime concoction and receive Nickelodeon’s ultimate honor– getting slimed! The installation takes visitors on an experiential slime-filled adventure throughout a unique 20,000 square-foot space that features an array of insta-worthy, slime-tastic moments for kids of all ages.

“Our iconic slime is the ultimate symbol of free-spirited mess and the physical embodiment of the fun and irreverent spirit of Nickelodeon,” said Sharon Cohen, Executive Vice President, The Nick Experience. “We are excited to bring Slime City to Atlanta to offer this brand-new way for kids and families to interact with our signature slime through a dynamic space for a fun-filled summer.”

If you are looking to be a part of what could possibly be Atlanta’s best pop up experience yet, we’ve got all the deets below!

Nickelodeon Slime City Experience

You begin your experience in the lobby where you can pick up t-shirts, slime kits, and some delicious treats just oozing with slime!  You actually end up back here so if you want to hold off on making any purchases, that’s fine too!

Once your official time arrives, you will gather in a small room where you will get the lowdown on Nick Slime City and proper slime etiquette.  If you are looking to get slimed at the end, be sure to pick up your scavenger hunt card.  Throughout the rooms, you will find Nickelodeon characters hidden.  Find all of them to reveal the secret code to being slimed!

The Nickelodeon Slime City experience features eight unique, themed spaces designed to let visitors interact with slime in various ways including:

Nick-Slime-CitySlime HQ

Spin wheels, turn levers and touch slime to keep the gallons of green goodness pumping through the pipes and tubes.  Does it smell? Nope!  How does it feel?  Believe it or not, this radioactive-looking ooze is warm (in this room) and the consistency is similar to paint but gooey.  It’s also not sticky which is a PLUS in my book.  If you have ever made slime at home, you know what I am talking about!

Great Wall of Slime

Leave your mark and make an impression on the giant pin wall to create awesome slime shapes and silhouettes. My advice for this room is to lean back head first into the giant pin wall.

Kids-Choice-Award-Nickelodeon-blimpNick Hall of Slime

Prepare your acceptance speech!  You’ll get the chance to stand at the iconic Nick podium and hold an actual Kid’s Choice Award Blimp!  Be sure to check out the kaleidoscope on the blimp.

Slime-Tennial Park

Step inside this plush carpet filled room for a slimetastic recess!  Paying homage to Atlanta’s famous Centennial Olympic Park, visitors can take a spin or a swing on an exciting slime-inspired playground.  The great news about the playground is that it is an escape from the Georgia HEAT and there are no bugs!

Slime Bubble-Torium

Welcome to what I felt immediately screamed Spongebob’s Playground:) In this slime bubble-filled world, guests can burst goopy green bubbles.

Nick-SLime-City Slime Central

It’s slime time!  Now you do not HAVE to be slimed, but if you are up for it, it’s something you gotta experience!

What to Wear to Nickelodeon Slime City?

Come dressed to play! And don’t worry, they’ve thought of everything. You can pretty much wear anything except pants that can’t be rolled up.  You will be asked to remove your shoes and roll up your pants.  They will provide you with a poncho and the attendants are very helpful as they explain the best way to hold the poncho so you do not walk out of there covered in slime.  Be sure to listen to what they say-they do know best!

Will I Get Slimed?

Yes! … but only If you want to 😉

Every ticketed visitor will have the option to receive Nickelodeon’s ultimate honor of BEING SLIMED as part of a group sliming in our Slime Central room. Our VIP Sliming Add-On is your chance to get slimed SOLO in the green stuff and take home our limited edition ‘I Got Slimed’ t-shirt.

Everyone participating in a sliming will receive a poncho to wear during their sliming so you can get right back into your car afterward.

What’s it like to be slimed?

As you stand under the bucket filled with neon green slime, your emotions run high!  Am I really doing this?  Is this going to get all over my hair and clothes?  Is it all I dreamed?  Will I regret this? The countdown begins and when your moment has arrived, a tidal wave of Nickeldoen slime comes gushing over you.  It’s a little cold but it is well worth the long wait to have the chance to be slimed by the true champions on slime, Nickelodeon!   Like I said earlier, the experts know and there is little slime that made is past the poncho.  The biggest area of your body that will be hit with slime is your feet and legs as it oozes down the poncho.   But don’t fret, once you leave the sliming area, an attendant will help you remove the poncho and provide you with green hand towels to remove any excess slime.
