Money Saving Apps

I do not know about you but I am all for saving some money when I can. Nowadays you can find all kinds of helpful tips and programs out there to do and plenty of money savings apps.  For example, a few years ago I had shared with my readers the 52-week savings plan.  While I had the best intentions, I simply was not able to complete the 52-week challenge.  Life just kind of happened and other things took away from us putting back for a rainy day.   Now I am seeing a new savings plan that seems like I can actually do.  Have you heard of the 100 Envelope Challenge?

100 Envelope Challenge

I am not sure who to credit this challenge with as I have seen it all over social media, but I know whoever created it is on to something.  This challenge seems easy, but with anything, it can also seem quite overwhelming!  It begins with 100  envelopes numbered 1 through 100.

How it Works

Each week, you select 1-2 envelopes that you are able to contribute to that week.  If you do this all year, the savings you build-up could be amazing.  Just take a look below!

If you complete envelopes $1-$50, you’ll have $1275

If you complete envelopes $1-$82, you’ll have  $3403

If you complete envelopes $1-$100, you’ll have $5,050

Think about that!  This challenge allows you to give what you can each week depending on what your cash flow is like.   If your cash flow is heavy, you may want to consider grabbing a few of the higher ones to add to and saving the smaller numbered envelopes for those weeks where the money is tight.

The nice thing about this plan is that you make it work for you!
