Melon’s House Party
I love the sounds of laughing and singing in my home and it’s especially sweet when it has nothing to do with some video or movie! Don’t think it is possible? It is! And Melon’s House Party is one kids podcast that can bring about delightful giggles and singing.
As a mom to six children, four that are grown, one of the most rewarding experiences I got to have with them was with audiobooks. We had quite a commute to work and school each day. Rather than listen to the radio and expose them to the morning shows that were definitely not family-friendly, we decided to start listening to books. The kids and I loved it. There were so many days when we would just sit in the garage waiting for a chapter to end and making predictions and connections. Even to this day, we’ll reminisce over those books and experiences. And now that I am raising two more little ones, I want to give them that same experience and that’s why I am excited about sharing Melon’s House Party with you. It’s our favorite show to listen to. Full of music and fun, Melon’s House Party needs to be added to your podcast list.
Melon’s House Party
Melon’s House Party follows Melon, a small dog with a Couch as her best friend. Once Luke and Chloe, Melon’s owners, leave the house, the adventures begin as the household items come to life. Melon and her best friend, Couch, interact with one another as well as all the other household items. I love how the other household items perfectly fit their purpose, too. For example, the wall calendar is always timely with her news and updates. The record player is
absolutely amazing and has an incredible voice while the bookshelf is therapeutic and offers all kinds of advice to Melon and her household buddies.
Each episode is about 30 minutes long and contains lots of cool toe-tapping songs perfect for kids. Trust me, you’ll be singing these songs long after the episode. For example, in the first episode the refrigerator signs a jazzy song about his life. It was definitely a catchy tune and one I found myself singing the last time I opened it.
As a parent, there are many reasons why I love Melon’s House Party. Not only does each episode have great life lessons for kids to learn, but it also encourages problem solving and creativity. Not to mention that listening to podcasts, in general, helps foster a child’s learning and imagination.
