Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

Drac and the Pack are back, like you’ve never seen them before in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. Reunite with your favorite monsters for an all-new adventure that presents Drac (Brian Hull) with his most terrifying task yet. When Van Helsing’s (Jim Gaffigan) mysterious invention, the ‘Monsterification Ray,’ goes haywire, Drac and his monster pals are all transformed into humans, and Johnny (Andy Samberg) becomes a monster! In their new mismatched bodies, Drac, stripped of his powers, and an exuberant Johnny, loving life as a monster, must team up and race across the globe to find a cure before it’s too late, and before they drive each other crazy. With help from Mavis (Selena Gomez) and the hilariously human Drac Pack, the heat is on to find a way to switch themselves back before their transformations become permanent. The film also features the voices of Kathryn Hahn (Ericka), Steve Buscemi (Wayne), Molly Shannon (Wanda), David Spade (Griffin the Invisible Man), Keegan-Michael Key (Murray), Fran Drescher (Eunice), Brad Abrell (Frank), and Asher Blinkoff (Wesley the Wolf Pup).

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

We have been a fan of the Hotel Transylvania movies since they first came out. Our little guy absolutely fell head over heels in love with this series that this past Halloween he dressed up as Johnny! Seriously! That is what he wanted to be. So we put a backpack on, sprayed his hair green (it was the only color we could find at the time), and he wore a jacket. He was as happy as could be!

If you’re a parent, you’ll definitely get the overall message. As a mom to six children with ages ranging from 4 to 29, this movie really hit home with me. When one of my oldest was dating the girl that would become his future wife, I had a hard time making that connection to my future daughter in love. I could easily see myself doing just what Drac was doing to save his precious and beloved family traditions and hotel. For me, I was able to quickly resonate with him from the time the movie started until it ended. As the movie unfolded, I could easily watch my own life with Charlee unfold on the screen as well. It’s about the little things and putting yourself in other people’s shoes. While it’s not easy, it helps to bridge that gap and help you connect. I thought this movie did a great job highlighting the relationship between Drac and Johnny. Plus, it was pretty cool to see the characters we’ve come to love as humans.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania was an absolute hit in our home! We found the storyline to be very entertaining and funny. While I hate that the Hotel Transylvania saga has come to an end, this movie truly wrapped it up nicely. If you don’t have Amazon Prime Video, you are going to want to get it. The latest installment in the Hotel Transylvania franchise will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting on January 14. It’s the perfect movie to stream at home with the family.
