I LOVED the first Guardians of the Galaxy, and I certainly fell in love with Groot. The music was pretty awesome too. When I was given the chance to check out Marvel’s the new volume, I knew I had to go. Right from the start the movie is filled with action. While the beginning of the movie may start off a little intense with a battle scene, most viewers are oohing and ahhing at baby Groot dancing to some cool tunes.
Of course this movie is about more than Baby Groot, although that is kind of hard to believe because he is just so darn cute! This volume focuses on exploring the paternal identity of Star Lord Peter Quill. Bringing back all the characters from volume 1 and a few new ones to get to know, this film is packed with humor and action. Plus, you see some stars you would not expect to see in this sci-fi movie.

This movie is rated PG 13 for a reason. My take away from this movie was that it is fun for ages 10 and up, and please use that age 10 in relation to just how mature they are. There were alot of sexual jokes and to be more specific the penis was mentioned. While I know sometimes adding that element to movies gets ratings, I really did not feel it was necessary for this particular film. Yes, there is quite a bit of violence, so this would be an area where I would recommend parents see it first to determine if you feel comfortable with your child seeing. There are times when it is graphic.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. It had me laughing throughout the film and even tearing up at the end. The overall message the movie communicates is something everyone will enjoy and can relate too.
If I can leave you with one more bit of advice–STAY FOR THE CREDITS!
