Experience Summer Safely at Great Wolf Lodge
As a mom, I always look forward to the summer! BBQs, fireflies, and s’mores ! It’s our time to leave worries behind and just live in the moment. With the pandemic in full swing this year, I thought that our family vacation was going to be wiped from our calendar until I learned about the Paw Pledge from Great Wolf Lodge.
If you have never been to a Great Wolf Lodge before, it is something to EXPERIENCE. Whether you have little ones or big ones, this is one family-friendly resort destination that is not only a waterpark but also an adventure park. I like to think of it as a cruise ship on land! Once you get there, there is no reason to leave and with their enhanced safety protocols, your family can play safely.
Great Wolf Lodge has pledged their paws to help families create quality memories with your safety in mind! It’s called the Paw Pledge and you can see their commitment to safety throughout their resort. In addition, the resort is not operating at full capacity which allows for social distancing. If you are someone who wants to visit but hates the crowd, you will want to get here now! This is honestly the best time to visit. The crowds are cut in half which allows you to enjoy more of the resort.
Long before you enter through the doors to the Great Wolf Lodge , your family will complete a health screener. It asks if you have been running fevers or been in contact with individuals that have covid. From that point, you can choose to check-in online, through their app, or in person. If you choose to check-in in person, they have provided markers for guests to stand at to promote social distancing. In addition, there are plexiglass dividers between you and the attendant.
Once you arrive, you will find that things look a little bit different inside the resort and that is due to their Paw Pledge. Furniture that you typically see in their grand lobby has been removed to discourage groups of people from just hanging out. You will also find sanitation stations for your convenience as well as signage that promotes their Paw Pledge and encourages you to take steps to keep yourself and those around you safe.
Face masks are required while you are at the resort. The only exception to this is when you are dining or at the water park.
Great Wolf Lodge is promoting the social distancing rules throughout the lodge and the water park. Once you step inside you will quickly see how evident this is. From the markers placed through the lodge for lines to the way the seats are displaced throughout the indoor and outdoor water park, they are doing their best to provide ways for guests to social distance.
As you can see from the picture above, social distancing is possible at Great Wolf Lodge even in the water. Lifeguards are on duty to help monitor the pool capacity. Even the water park attractions such as the wave pool, slides, lazy river have a maximum capacity. Attendants monitor the areas to help maintain the 6 foot CDC guideline.
Great Wolf Lodge Activities
One of the most noticeable and appreciated social distancing protocols was what they were doing to allow guests to enjoy the things we’ve come to love about Great Wolf Lodge . Things such as the beloved Yoga Tails, storytime, dance parties, and more are still available. To participate in one of these activities, you have to make reservations.
Contactless Environments & Procedures
In addition to the things we have already highlighted above, Great Wolf Lodge is also implementing a variety of ways to provide contactless environments.
Cashless Transactions – Connect your wrist band to your credit card
Menus are provided via QR code
While dining, kid activities are just a QR away
Great Wolf Lodge App & Virtual Concierge
The Great Wolf Lodge app is an excellent tool for your visit to the resort. Everything you could need is found right at your fingertips. You can easily receive alerts to activities in the resort to ordering food from one of their in house restaurants.
In addition, the virtual concierge, Willow, is just a text away. She can take care of all of your service needs. Requested items will be left hanging on your door and you will get a text when your item has arrived.
Wolf Pass & Adventure Park
Beyond the thrills of the water park, Great Wolf Lodge features dozens of entertainment options under its massive roof. Families will delight at the wide variety of activities found throughout the entire resort, perfect for children of all ages. Featured attractions include the 40,000-square-foot Great Wolf Adventure Park, a full-service family entertainment center featuring the Howlers Peak Ropes Course®, Howl In One™ Miniature Golf Course, Ten Paw Alley™ family bowling, Northern Lights™ Arcade, and Rustic Ridge, a multi-story rock wall. Even during the pandemic, these adventures are still operating but with safety guidelines in place. For some of these attractions, you will need to reserve a time slot.
MagiQuest is another adventure that is still the same and is actually a great contactless activity for all guests. Plus, it is perfect for social distancing because it is placed throughout the lodge. The only thing that I noticed was different was the store. In the past, the wands and toppers were located in the center of the store. Now those items are found at the checkout desk.
If you have a Wolf Pass, you will notice that candy shop operates a little differently now. Instead of guests being able to fill their own cups, an attendant will fill your cup with the items you request.
Summers are Safe at Great Wolf Lodge
We were able to give our kids a sense of normalcy while still practicing social distancing. We were so impressed with the attention to detail Great Wolf Lodge took for our safety. Long before you enter the doors, you can see their Paw Pledge in action! From requiring face masks to maintaining social distancing practices, you can rest knowing that Great Wolf Lodge takes your safety seriously.
