Be part of the Swarm as the Georgia Swarm Heads into Game 1 of the NLL Championship Cup

There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when you are cheering on your home state in a championship game. Recently my family and I had the chance to attend a Georgia Swarm game, and I gotta tell you I am now a fan of the Georgia Swarm and lacrosse. As a mom, I have kids that are into all kinds of sports, but they never played lacrosse. Honestly, it was not really around at the time they were younger. As they grew older and I started attending my student’s games, I have come to discover that lacrosse is actually quite popular! I have several students, both boys and girls, that play this fast paced, action packed game.
Little did I know that excitement is much bigger than just kid’s playing it. On May 20 my family and I attended Game 2 of the East Division Finals against Toronto. Now I can easily understand why they are well-known for being VERY family friendly and recently featured as one of the “Top 10 Things to Do in Gwinnett” by the Atlanta Journal & Constitution. The Georgia Swarm has action-packed, high-scoring games. They even feature music all game long, and you don’t want to miss their popular goal dance that fans of all ages participate in!
Even if you had no clue what was going on in the game of lacrosse, the excitement in that arena is contagious and you will feel the sting! Before I knew it, I had a good sense of what was going on and which players to watch. This was seriously some of the best fun my family and I have had in quite a while. You just could not help but pull for your home team and catch the buzz in “The Hive” as the Swarm continuously stung Toronto goal after goal.
What is even more exciting is the energy in that building. Now I am not that much of a party girl. I do not generally dance or move to the beat when I go to things. I kind of just sit back and relax. I am the girl who likes to take it all in. Not here! My body just caught on to the energy and did not let go until the last second ticked away on that clock. The overall atmosphere is contagious. You can’t help but WANT to be apart of the action even if it is from the stands! Both young and old were dancing and doing the popular goal dance that I had no idea what it was until I saw it in person. It moves you to want to dance and get excited.
With Poulin as the goalie, the Georgia Swarm had the game from the start, and now Atlanta has another professional team heading to the finals. On Sunday, June 4 at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena, the Swarm will face the two-time defending champion Saskatchewan Rush in a best of three series. Plus, history will be made in this series as FOUR BROTHERS, the Thompson brothers, will be facing off June 4! You do not want to miss this!
The Georgia Swarm is in the midst of a very exciting time as they’re looking to bring a World Championship Cup to Atlanta!
