Easy Saving Plan for 2017 and a Giveaway

I do not know about you but I am all for saving some money when I can.  Now a days you can find all kinds of helpful tips and programs out there to do.  Last year I had shared with my readers the 52 week savings plan. I am sad to say that I did not follow through with it as I had wanted.  Life just kind of happened and other things took away from us putting back for a rainy day.

But that is not what will happen this year.  Recently I came across a great savings plan that I actually feel like I can do and I am betting that you can also!  I happen to come across it on my Facebook feed just the other day.  After doing some research I believe the creator of this savings plan is Jefferey Strain with savingadvice.com.

We all have pennies lying around our house and better yet…we all FIND pennies all over the place.  Rather than pass that penny up lying in the super store parking lot, pick it up and add it to your stash!  In this plan you will save $671.61 this year by using PENNIES!  Yes, PENNIES!  It is such a simple idea really and one that I wish I had come across sooner.

Special Note:  This plan does factor in Leap Year.  Since this year is not a Leap Year, go ahead and add an additional 60 cents to your end of February total.  This way you can use this plan year after year.

Check out the saving plan image below.

While it may not be $1,378 dollars with the 52 week challenge that many have been sharing online, it is something to be proud of!  You can even add in extra each month or day for that matter to boost your savings account and maybe even make it to the $1,378 mark.

We want to help you get started in this new saving plan by offering one of our readers $50 to their paypal account.

Giveaway is open to US and closes January 31, 2017.

I have never tried saving by using a plan like this, however, I think I may give it a try. To save for Christmas, I buy gift cards in small amounts out of each pay, when November arrives, I use them to buy gifts. :)

Looks easy enough. I better not leave it in a jar out or they will keep disappearing. My grand kids are always taking my pennies.

Never tried this way to save money. I am good at saving money and where to cut costs if need be.

I've never tried a savings plan like this before. I think it's definitely worth a try! I just try to cut costs year round as a form of savings.

I've never tried anything like this before. My biggest money saving tip is to keep some breakfast bars at work so that when I am running behind I don't feel tempted to run through the drive through for breakfast!
  6. Steven weber says
Biggest money saving tip is save 10% of everything you make.

I save a ton by not buying food when I'm out running errands. If I'm that hungry it must be time to go home!

I have seen savings plans like this before but I have never tried one before. My biggest savings tip is to directly deposit a portion of your paycheck into a savings account.

I have never tried a plan like this. I am disabled and live below the recognized poverty level. I make ends meet, but sadly, saving is hard to do. I am very frugal and am able to live in the moment, but it's hard to put away for the future.

I have tried similar savings plans, but they required larger sums than I could deposit. This one is actually pretty doable! This would be great because it would help me afford to pay for the dental work I've been putting off!

I've seen this plan lately on social media and I haven't tried it. It is interesting, but I don't know if it works as good as devising a budget for saving. It is worth a try!

I've never tried anything like this before! I just throw spare change in a jar when I have it.

  15. We've tried many savings plans. The only one I can stick to is the Dave Ramsey emergency fund. I've never tried a specific plan with coins, but my son is GREAT about picking up coins when he sees them. I'm going to encourage him to save them up in a jar and count them after a while! Dianna

I've tried using similar plans like this before. Last year actually. Sadly, "life happened" half way through the year and I was unable to recover from it...causing me to not be able to pick back up with it. :(

I printed out the PDF from another site. And have been doing it more like a scavenger hunt or bingo. I cleaned out my purse, my car... Been kinda fun to come home with a pocket full of change or even a dime I saw on the ground and be able to check off another square!
  21. Katherine says
I would love to try a savings plan and never tried one. The problem I seem to have is that I was a single mom who lived paycheck to paycheck. I never seemed to have any extra to stock away. I even been known to dive into my coins just to help pay bills. I hope one day I can be in a position to try a savings plan.

I remember seeing this savings plan on Pinterest a while back, but not being able to find it again. Thanks for the post! We save by putting money from our paycheck into a direct deposit savings account. That way we never see it- so we don't dip into it! I'd like to try this way too to save even more!
  28. Jennifer says
I just put change in saving container I have. I live check to check and there is no way I can put $10 or more every day in that savings.
  29. abedabun dawn says
No, I have not tried to do this. However, we do open up a Christmas club at our local bank. My son use to save his money all week (chores, grades, etc) and he would put that money into his Christmas club every Saturday. The bank would send him a check in November.

I use coupons, savings apps such as ibotta and checkout 51 to save money. I like to combine sales with coupons.
