You can literally fill up the entire holiday season with an event each night if you wanted. Whether you are looking to celebrate Christmas or not, there is so much to choose from. Alliance Theatre A Christmas Carol
The Alliance Theatre’s beloved production A CHRISTMAS CAROL will return to the Coca-Cola Stage this year with an exciting new adaption, including a completely reimagined set design and stunning new costumes. Audiences will be transported to the streets of London to revisit the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey to redemption, told with beautiful live music and an all-star cast. Join the Alliance Theatre for one of Atlanta’s most treasured holiday traditions.

Atlanta Ballet’s The Nutcracker
One year past its intended Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre debut, Atlanta Ballet will make its long-anticipated return to the theatre stage to present Yuri Possokhov’s The Nutcracker. Described as “one of the most entertaining [Nutcrackers] out there” by The Washington Post following the Company’s 2019 Washington D.C. debut at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, this innovative production features larger-than-life sets and bold costumes enhanced by striking video projections, created by a world-class creative team that includes Tony Award-winning and -nominated designers. As one of the top major performing arts facilities in the metro Atlanta Area, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is the perfect fit for this ultra-high-tech production.

Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Garden Lights
The Atlanta Botanical Garden dazzles each year with its light display Garden Lights Holiday Nights. Wander through the 30-acre Midtown attraction to orchestral orbs, a glittering galaxy, the radiant rainforest and massive Tunnel of Light while sipping hot drinks. The 2021 show offers extremely limited capacity and masks/social distancing are required. November 13, 2021 – January 15, 2022.

Atlanta’s Holiday Road in Fairburn
Get ready for the holiday fun as Holiday Road opens as a walking trail at The Horse Mansion at Bouckaert Farm in Fairburn from November 26 to January 2. It’s a night full of bright lights, hot drinks, holiday activities, and heartwarming memories. Immerse yourself in a holiday wonderland filled with thousands of lights, larger-than-life holiday installations, and tons of festive fun. You’ll be transported into a winter wonderland as they visit the North Pole to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, Elf Village, Gingerbread Lane, light tunnels, and more. There will also be treats available from the area’s best food trucks and special holiday cocktails for the adults.
Tickets are $24.99 and up depending on when you purchase your tickets and day of attendance. Your ticket is valid for 1 person each. Children 2 years and under are free. Please be sure to purchase a ticket for each individual you are attending the show with. In addition to your Admission Ticket, be sure to purchase your Parking Pass to access the parking lot.

Center for Puppetry Arts
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer November 10 through January 2
Rudolph soars back into town for this faithful adaptation that speaks to the misfit in all of us. Based on the beloved 1964 stop-motion animated special, you won’t want to miss it! Rudolph and his friends Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius brave the Abominable Snow Monster and the even more daunting fear of not fitting in before discovering that it’s okay to be just the way they are! With fun holiday music, finely crafted puppets and an important prosocial message, Rudolph is sure to warm hearts even on the most blustery winter day.
In addition, this year the Center for Puppetry Arts is thrilled to announce a very special exhibition featuring Rudolph and Santa puppets from the original film production of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™. These extremely rare puppets went up for auction last year and are on long-term loan to the Center. Learn about the history behind the iconic poem-turned-song Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and the classic 1964 stop motion television special of the same name. You will need to purchase the museum tickets in order to see this.

College Football Hall of Fame
The Hall lights up with holiday cheer! On December 3, Santa will visit with gifts for all, and families can take holiday photos at the photo booth. Play like a legend on the 45-yard field, and go “caroling” with your school’s fight song!
Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas
The spirit of the season shines brightest during Smoky Mountain Christmas, America’s best Christmas tradition. Here, the skies dance with the glimmer of more than 5 million twinkling lights and the sounds of our award-winning rides fill the air with Christmas cheer. Fernbank Museum Winter Wonderland
Fernbank’s annual holiday experience, Winter Wonderland, returns Saturday, November 20! Twinkling with lights, glimmering with color and shining with a variety of cultural objects, this holiday-inspired exhibit features trees and other displays highlighting celebrations and traditions from around the world.
Enjoy more wintery WOW with new outdoor additions, including a sock skating rink and oversized snow globes.
Enjoy a season of celebrations during Fernbank’s annual Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World. This holiday-inspired exhibit features trees and other displays decorated by local cultural partners that recognize celebrations including Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as traditions and practices like indigenous art and national symbols, located on Entry and Upper Levels.

Oakland Cemetery Holiday Hunt Scavenger Hunt
Gather a small group of friends or family for a day of cemetery sleuthing on this self-guided scavenger hunt throughout historic Oakland Cemetery!
November 20 through January 2, purchase your printable Holiday Hunt packet online (one per team), download, print, and follow all-new cryptic clues to solve riddles. No reservations are required to participate.
Choose from three different packets, organized by degree of cemetery riddle difficulty:
Easy: Kid-friendly riddles and perfect for families (expected hunt time:1 hour)
Medium: Challenging, but not impossible to solve, riddles (Expected hunt time: 1.5-2 hours)
Deadly: Try it if you dare (Expected hunt time: 2-3 hours)
Each team that purchases a packet will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Prizes include tour tickets, memberships, Museum Store gift cards, and more. There will be weekly prize drawings, and winners will be notified by email.
The Holiday Hunt packet ($25 plus tax) includes one self-guided tour map (a $5 value) that can be used on return visits.
All proceeds from the Holiday Hunt benefit Historic Oakland Foundation’s mission to preserve, restore, enhance, and share Oakland Cemetery.

Zoo Atlanta’s IllumiNights
Zoo Atlanta partners with Hanart Culture to bring an incredible new experience to the city, with vistas of illuminated wildlife and awe-inspiring sights.
A nighttime lantern wonderland celebrating the beauty of the natural world. Stroll the Zoo after dark to be inspired by more than 80 animal lanterns – some up to 20 feet tall – depicting some of Earth’s most charismatic creatures. Each lantern is made and hand-painted by Chinese artisans, therefore representing thousands of hours of work. In keeping with Zoo Atlanta’s commitment to sustainability, each lantern also features environmentally-friendly LED lights.
