Celebrate Beneficial Bugs & Ladybugs

The season to play in the dirt is in full swing! Along with sunny skies and bountiful blooms, bugs are also a critical part of the garden landscape. Contrary to common bug beliefs, many fluttering friends – such as a ladybugs – are actually beneficial to the success of plants, eating other insects such as aphids that harm botanicals.

Ladybugs

Ladybugs are a familiar sight in Southeastern gardens and are often known to bring good luck to those who find them. To celebrate these red and black beauties, and one of our favorite garden centers is hosting its annual Ladybug Weekend from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28.  Throughout the weekend, Pike Nurseries will give away over four million FREE ladybugs (one 150-count packet per family with purchase, while supplies last) to provide customers with a little ladybug luck to jumpstart gardens into colorful blooms this season.
