Alex & Me
If you are anything like me or even your kids, you’ve probably got some dreams. My dreams consist of some crazy things like my own private island and a time machine, but I also have some more realistic ones like purchasing an RV when I retire to travel across the United States. While it sometimes seems a little unattainable at times, I know I will make this dream come true! Why? Because I know the power to accomplish these dreams lives within me just like Alex Morgan. A soccer superstar, Alex Morgan, stars in the full-length feature film – Alex & Me! The film follows the uplifting story of a young female athlete who learns how you need passion, determination and self-worth to make all your dreams come true.
Family Fitness Goals
There’s no better way to celebrate Week 6 of Camp Warner Bros. than focusing on our fitness goals. Many of our children have not been in school since mid-March, and their fitness levels are probably pretty slim to none. I know this is true for our home. We’ve been chilling out inside where its cool and binge-watching all kinds of shows. Even
Camp Warner Bros.
Summer is a great time for campers to think of their goals – be it short term, or long term! In Alex & Me, Reagan (played by Siena Agudong (“Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” and “ Star Falls”) uses a chart to keep track of her daily soccer drills as she progresses towards her goals. This week at camp, we want to inspire your campers to follow their dreams and keep track of their personal goals with their Alex & Me Goal Chart – a great tool to motivate kids to strive to be their best. You can download it here.
Campers can hold themselves accountable, and mark off each item on their list as they are completed!
Benefits of Physical Activity
In soccer, developing strength enables a player to better control his or her body when they are striking or heading the ball, making a save in a goal, or changing directions abruptly on the field. Participating in group physical activity can be fun, elevate your mood, and strengthen your body and bond with your team all at the same time!
So we want to encourage you to put some water in your camp tumblers, grab your towels – and get ready to move your body while bonding with your kiddos with this fun Alex & Me Family Workout. Our little one had such a great time learning how to stretch, jumping jacks, and sit-ups. While it may not look like what I was modeling, I was happy to see her being physically active.
Please always use caution when exercising, and listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right – don’t do it! Daily exercise improves health, can reduce anxiety, and increases self-confidence – and working together to get through this list as a team will make the whole family feel great!
Making Fitness Fun
As a teacher, I know when I make my lessons fun, they are more likely to engage! As role models, we have to show them that it is fun! If we make it look like some laborious activity that we dread doing, we are not going to win them over. They need to see us live in the moment and enjoy it. They have to see that it brings true happiness!
Here are some easy ways to make fitness fun at home.
Set up an obstacle course in your backyard or at a playground
Plan a Scavenger Hunt Run
Plan a nighttime run in PJs or a flashlight run.
Play some simple games Red Light, Green Light, Simon Says, Capture the Flag, Sharks & Minnows

When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life, and everything changes!
