Roadmap Genesis Review & Giveaway

My Review of Roadmap Genesis

Nolan Lebovitz, a former horror filmmaker, began to question what kind of world he was leaving behind for his family after he became a husband and father. Upon further investigation he discovered that what the world was leaving behind for his children was one that he was not happy with.  People have no sense of morals.  The world is empty!

So, Nolan Lebovitz set out to become a rabbi and quickly realized that the Book of Genesis needed and pivotal in navigating through this thing called life.  So he set out to ask people what does “Genesis” mean to them? As he traveled throughout the world he discovered that people could not really give him an answer to the question, “What does Genesis mean to them?”  Answers varied from what is Genesis to Genesis does not apply to the time we are in now.

As Lebovitz interviewed and delved deeper into Genesis, he discovered that it is a road map for our lives today.  We are not to give in to the chaos and be passive in this world but work toward understanding.  As I look at the world around me I can see what Lebovitz sees.  There is so much anger and chaos around us.

Genesis is the foundation of our world.  It shows how despite the suffering that is obvious in Genesis and our world today, God will walk with us through that chaos with us just as He did in Genesis.  I love this statement from Mike Huckabee in Roadmap Genesis, “He took the world that was chaos and made it into order.  If man is left to himself he takes a world of order and creates chaos.”

I enjoyed this documentary and recommend it to others.  As you go through the film you begin to understand just what Nolan Lebovitz discovered about Genesis!

“Change for the future has to begin with how we treat ourselves and our children today.”-Nolan Lebovitz

About The Film

Roadmap Genesis is a film documentary that makes the case that the Book of Genesis is a roadmap containing guideposts on how to live a productive, fruitful, and fulfilling life that will help our society lift itself out of its current decline and return it to prosperity, promise, and accomplishment.

When Filmmaker Nolan Lebovitz found himself at a crossroads in his life, he knew he had to choose between continuing to make the Hollywood suspense thrillers that were his livelihood and trying to make the world a better place for his new young family. After much struggle, he found his answer in the Book of Genesis.

Armed with this discovery, Nolan made a drastic life change. He decided to study to become a Rabbi. As his seminary work progressed, he realized that he needed to share his epiphany with others. But how?

He decided to combine his love of the Book of Genesis with his passion for filmmaking and set out to travel the United States, interviewing clergy and public figures in order to build an undeniable argument about the continued importance of the Book of Genesis as a guiding force in our Judeo-Christian country.

Roadmap Genesis invites Americans of all faiths to engage in a dialogue about the relevance of the Bible in the modern age. Through interviews ranging from Gov. Mike Huckabee of Fox News Channel to Rabbi David Wolpe, from Alan Dershowitz to the Archbishop of Chicago Cardinal Francis George, from Erick Stakelbeck of the Christian Broadcasting Network to Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum, and many, many more, Nolan explores the rules that God has set forth to help us maintain a successful and working society.
